75th Independence Day
Hello,
Wishing you a very happy and proud Independence Day!
On the special occasion of 75th Independence Day, I'd like to express my views on how I feel and share a story.
Holding your national flag is a matter of huge pride, emotions, respect and dignity. Not everyone in their lifetime get this opportunity and I feel really distinguished and blessed to have had the honour of doing so. It literally gives you goosebumps. The picture below is from June, 2018 when me and my college team participated in the 16th AUVSI SUAS competition and won the 5th prize globally. We were the only Indian team in the top 5 and at that point in time nothing seemed like a bigger achievement. We represented our college, our university and most importantly our Nation. Now that I look back, it does not seem to be that significant.
Now I want to do more. I want to do something bigger and better for my nation. When I see people serving the country, our soldiers, our policemen, our govt officers, I feel really insignificant as a simple civilian.
But I do not get disheartened by this. Even as a simpleton we are contributing to the nations economy. But I just wanna make sure when the time comes, when this nation demands my sacrifice, I am ready to do it. Life always gives you one chance.
My salute to all those men and women who are and have been serving this country selflessly with utmost dignity and sincerity to the nation.
p.s - The guy holding the flag is myself.
